LabVIEW
LabVIEW is a programming environment: you build the measurement system by writing it, in a graphical language, and it reaches as far as your code does. Ganter Lab is a finished application: you connect the devices, draw the screens and describe the logic in forms, and the station runs without a project to compile. If the hard part of your work is the measurement itself, the first one fits. If it is watching, recording and operating what already measures, the second gets you there sooner.

Elipse Software makes supervision software for whole plants and for electric utilities, in the shape that work needs: a supervision server, operator viewers around it, and a license sized to the installation. Ganter Lab is one station. It installs on the machine that watches the bench, the line or the laboratory, and it is set up in forms the same afternoon. The question is not which one is stronger, it is how much system you actually have to supervise.

Ignition is a server platform: a gateway runs somewhere on the network or in the cloud, operator clients are launched from it, and the license is bought per server rather than per screen or per tag. Ganter Lab is the opposite shape on purpose: one application on the station, no gateway to administer, and remote browser sessions as a switch you turn on when you want them. Both watch devices. Only one of them asks you to run a server first.
