Branding
The integrator's logo, its dark-theme version, the icon and the name, which take the place of the Ganter Lab brand in the title bar, the sign-in screen, the browser tab, the window, the tray and the report's default logo.
Branding is the second row of the GENERAL group on the Settings page, under Appearance. It puts the face of whoever delivers or runs the station on the program: a Logo, an optional Logo for dark theme, an Icon and a Name take the place of the G and "Ganter Lab" where the station shows its brand. Every station has it, with or without a license, and opening the page takes the Change settings permission. A field left empty draws the Ganter Lab brand exactly as a station without branding does.
The four rows
| Field | What it is | Values / default | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Logo | A wide picture with the company's name drawn in it. The row says "A wide picture with your company's name drawn in it. It takes the place of the G and Ganter Lab in the title bar and on the sign-in screen, and it is what a report layout that names no image prints. PNG or JPG." | A PNG or JPG file, up to 16 MB. Empty by default. | Drawn in the title bar of a browser, 24 pixels high, and on the sign-in screen; the logo a report layout that names no image prints. Empty: the G and "Ganter Lab". |
| Logo for dark theme | The version of the Logo for the dark theme. The row says "Optional. Drawn in place of the Logo while the dark theme is in use. Without it the Logo serves both themes; without a Logo it is not drawn." | A PNG or JPG file, up to 16 MB. Empty by default. | Drawn instead of the Logo wherever the page is dark. A report never prints it, because paper is white. |
| Icon | A square picture. The row says "A square picture for the browser tab, the window in the taskbar and the notification-area icon, which keeps its health dot. PNG or JPG." | A PNG or JPG file, up to 16 MB. Empty by default. | The browser tab's icon, the window's icon in the taskbar and in Alt+Tab, and the notification-area icon, with its health dot in the corner. A picture that is not square is fitted whole and centred, never stretched. Empty: the blue tile with the G. |
| Name | The station's name, in text. The row says "Said in the window title, the browser tab and the notification area. Left empty, it says Ganter Lab." | Up to 40 characters. Empty by default; the empty field shows Ganter Lab in grey. | The window title, the browser tab's title, the notification-area tooltip ("Name: Connector: online") and the tray menu's Open item. Saved when the field is left or Enter is pressed. Empty: "Ganter Lab". |
Each picture row shows, beside its two verbs, the picture as it will appear: the Logo on a slice of a light title bar, the dark version on a slice of a dark one (the Logo when there is no dark version, the G and "Ganter Lab" when there is no Logo), and the Icon at the two sizes of a browser tab. The pictures take the same files as the image library: a whole PNG or a whole JPEG, nothing else. A PNG with a transparent background reads best on both themes.
| Command | What it does | Greyed when (situation) | Not drawn when (role) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Choose… | Opens the browser's own file dialog, in the station's window or in a browser on another device, copies the picked file into the station and puts it in place at once. The feed says "Logo saved.", "Logo for dark theme saved." or "Icon saved."; a refusal says "The picture was not saved." followed by the reason, such as "'.gif' is not a supported image type. Use PNG or JPG." or "The image is larger than the 16 MB limit." | The runtime is stopped, or the device is view-only, with the reason as the tooltip; or the previous change is still being saved. | Never: the page itself is drawn only for Change settings. |
| Remove | Takes the row's picture away, and what drew it goes back to the Ganter Lab brand. The feed says "Logo removed.", "Logo for dark theme removed." or "Icon removed." | The row holds no picture of its own ("Nothing is chosen here to remove."), the runtime is stopped or the device is view-only. | Never. |
Where it appears
| Place | Without branding | With branding |
|---|---|---|
| The title bar of a browser on another device | The G and "Ganter Lab" | The Logo, or its dark version in the dark theme |
| The station's own window | The caption says "Ganter Lab" and wears the blue tile | The caption says the Name and wears the Icon, and so do the taskbar and Alt+Tab |
| The sign-in screen (a tablet, an operator panel, the station's own window) | The G and "Ganter Lab" | The Logo, with a small grey line under it: "Powered by Ganter Lab" |
| The browser tab | The blue tile and "Ganter Lab" | The Icon and the Name |
| The notification-area icon | The blue tile with the health dot, "Ganter Lab: Connector: online" and Open Ganter Lab | The Icon with the same health dot, "Name: Connector: online" and the Open item followed by the Name |
| A report layout that names no image | No logo | The Logo, never its dark version |
Everything follows at once: the window title, the window and tray icons, the title bar and every open browser tab change without a restart and without reloading a page.
What stays Ganter Lab
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| The Start menu and desktop shortcuts, the installer and the name on Windows notifications | The signed installer writes them; changing them would take an installer per company. |
| About and Legal, the documentation, the Account page, the Welcome page and the texts accepted at first use | They say who supplies the software, its license and its support. |
| The sentences that name the product (reconnecting, updating, exiting, backups) | They name the software the station runs. |
| The G of the Account entry on the rail | It stands for the Ganter account, not for the station. |
Backups and other stations
The branding travels with the station's configuration: a backup and an export carry the name and the three pictures, and restoring them brings them back. An integrator who copies a configuration to another station takes the branding along. The seeded demonstration starts with none, and the visitor of the published demonstration never reaches Settings.
What this section does not do
The pictures here are the section's own: they are not images of Logic > Assets, they have no address in Logic and no dashboard component draws them. The section does not crop, resize or convert a picture, does not take SVG, does not change the product's colours, and does not rename the program outside the places above. An agent connected through the Agent page neither reads nor changes it.
