Productivity

The rolling period the production figures are read over and the named quantities the outputs are grouped into, declared on the model and followed or overridden per unit, and the productivity card each unit presents.

Productivity is what a bench of the model counts as output. A procedure declares whether its completions produce output, in which physical unit and at what reference rate; this screen (Process > model > Definition > Productivity) declares how those outputs are read: the rolling period the figures are computed over and the named quantities the outputs are grouped into. Both are answered once on the model and inherited by every unit, and a unit that genuinely differs detaches and keeps its own. The header reads "The period the production figures are read over, and the named quantities the outputs are grouped into." and counts the units and how many are on their own.

Reading needs Look at models; every edit needs Manage process and an unlocked station. The screen wears the shape every Definition screen shares (see Definition).

Model definition: the period and the quantities

The head reads "The model's own answer. It holds for every unit that still follows it, so a bench of identical stations is configured once." and carries Quantity.

Over the table stand the two fields of the period:

Picking a quantity opens "What this quantity counts": "Every unit that still follows the model reports it. A unit on its own is untouched."

The checkboxes say why they refuse: "A quantity needs at least one source. Remove the quantity instead." on the last source, "This Procedure no longer contributes production output.", "Configure the Procedure's output unit first.", "This output unit is incompatible with the sources already selected." With no productive procedure at all the list reads "Enable production output on a Procedure before selecting sources."

Removing a procedure from the model removes it from every quantity that selected it, and a quantity left with no source goes with it.

Per unit: the units list

Manage units at the far end of the head opens the model's page.

The settings column for a unit

Picking a unit opens two cards. Where this unit's figures come from offers Follows the model default ("Editing the model default above changes this unit with the rest of the bench.") or Has its own configuration ("This unit is on its own. The model default no longer reaches it, and editing it changes nothing here."). Detaching starts from what is in force: a unit that holds no quantity of its own takes the model's period and a copy of its quantities, so only what differs is then changed; following again erases nothing, so detaching a second time gives back exactly what the unit had.

The second card is the configuration in force. While the unit follows it is titled In force: the model default ("Read from the model. Give this unit a configuration of its own to change it here.") and every control is disabled: the model's own stored values, not a copy. Once detached it is titled This unit's own ("Only this unit reports these. Its siblings are untouched.") and edits the unit's period and quantities by exactly the rules of the model's: Add quantity (greyed with "Choose at least one source or remove the open draft first." while a draft is open), the two period fields, and one editor per quantity with its name, unit pill, sources and Remove quantity (confirming "This removes the quantity from this unit."). With no quantity the card reads "Automatic detail: Each productive Procedure remains a separate output. Add named quantities only when a total, a curated detail, or both are wanted."

What the save refuses

Whichever level a row is stored on, the model refuses to save it while it is malformed, and the reason lands in the action feed: a quantity without a name or with a name another quantity of the same owner carries, a quantity with no source, one selecting the same procedure twice, one selecting a procedure outside the model or whose output is disabled, one summing incompatible units ("Quantity indicator 'Total' cannot sum incompatible units 'pcs' and 'kg'."), and a period that is not positive.

Where the figures are read

Every unit presents the result on the Productivity card of its panels (see Unit panels on View) and publishes the same numbers as read-only points under Process.<Model>.<Unit>.Productivity.Today and .Rolling (see The unit address space).

The card's head switches the period: Today ("Since local midnight.") or Last 24 h / Last 7 d, the rolling period in force for that unit. Until the projection is ready it reads "Preparing the productivity projection…"; with no productive procedure, "No Procedure contributes production yet. Enable “Production output” on a Procedure to start these indicators."; with nothing completed in the period, "No production recorded in today." or "No production recorded in the last 24 hours."

Period membership is the completion instant. Records freeze names, units and outcomes when they seal, so a later rename or unit change never merges unlike evidence, and a run imported from another station never contributes.

What this screen does not do

• It declares no output: whether a procedure produces, in which mode (per completed run, per completed cycle, a fixed quantity per completion), in which unit and at what reference rate is the procedure's own page.
• It counts nothing itself: the figures are read models over the run files' sealed productivity records, never a second counter.
• It converts no unit: two procedures producing in different units cannot be summed into one quantity.
