Button
The command key: writes a preset value, fires a unit run command, opens another dashboard or runs a Logic action.
Button is the command key of the palette. One click does the one thing the component declares — its action — and the property panel then asks only for that action's own fields, so no field sits on screen under a hidden rule about when it counts. It is a Control component; a new one occupies 3 × 1 cells.
Whatever the action, the button carries its own look: a color pair and an optional icon. On an operating panel the button is the piece the operator's hand goes to, and color and mark are what make one findable at a glance.
Content
| Field | What it does | Values | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Label | The caption on the key. Empty falls back to what the chosen action points at: the written point's last address segment, the destination dashboard's name, or the bound Logic action's name — and "(no point)", "(no dashboard)", "(no action)" or "(missing)" while there is nothing to name. | Free text | empty |
Action
| Field | What it does | Values | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| On click | What the click does. Every field below belongs to the chosen action. | Write a value · Run a unit command · Open another dashboard · Run a Logic action |
Write a value |
Write a value
| Field | What it does | Values | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Point | The written point. The list is narrowed to what can actually be written: memory variables and tags that are not read-only. | Free text; writable-point suggestions | empty |
| Value written | The preset literal sent on every click. It is read against the point's own type first, so a value the point cannot hold is refused on the button's answer line and never reaches the queue. | Free text | true |
The write goes through the station's single logic funnel and is journaled like every other write; the answer line says "Written".
Run a unit command
| Field | What it does | Values | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Command | A unit run command point (Process.<Model>.<Unit>.Commands.*). Firing the command is the whole instruction — there is no value to write. |
Free text; the list offers the unit run-command points | empty |
A command point reads "can execute now", so the button disables itself while the command does not apply — a Start while the runtime is blocked additionally shows the block reason. The press executes the command against the unit, attributed to the signed-in operator, and the answer line names the command that ran.
Open another dashboard
| Field | What it does | Values | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dashboard | The destination screen. The picker lists the station's dashboards; screens defined on a Process model are not offered, because they only open from a unit. | (none) or a dashboard |
(none) |
Changing screens is an operating gesture: a panel running full screen stays full screen when the operator arrives. The reference is loose — a screen that was deleted, or that the signed-in role does not see, disables nothing else: the press answers "That dashboard is unavailable." on the button's own line instead of breaking the screen.
Run a Logic action
| Field | What it does | Values | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Action | The bound Logic action (see the Logic page). | (none) or an action |
(none) |
The action runs on the logic queue, journaled as coming from the dashboard. The answer line reports the result: "OK · 12 ms", or the action's own error. A deleted or disabled action disables the button rather than breaking it.
Color and icon
Read whatever the action is:
| Field | What it does | Values | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Button color | The key's face, as a pair — one half per theme, both on screen at once, because the running theme decides which half paints. A half-typed hex is refused and the fields snap back to the colors in force. What a color means is your convention; the app reads none. | #RRGGBB each |
#FFFFFF light · #2B2B2B dark |
| Icon | Optional mark ahead of the caption, picked from the app's icon library (about 2,770 marks), searched by name or tag ("play, stop, warning…"). The — cell is the choice of no icon. |
Catalog glyph or none | none |
The caption's ink is derived, never authored: over each half of the face the app picks whichever of its two text tones has the better contrast, so no color you pick can leave the caption unreadable. The caption sizes itself by the shared display contract — what the key cannot hold ellipsizes, with the whole caption in the tooltip.
Permissions and the lock
Every action needs the role permission to operate dashboards. What a press needs beyond that is read off its target, not off the kind: only Run a unit command reaches a Process mutation and additionally needs the run-procedures permission. A press the signed-in role may not make draws the shared lock mark with the reason in the component's tooltip (see the dashboards page); authorization is re-checked at the click. The transient answer line expires after a few seconds.
The shared Appearance, Identification, Position and layer and Actions sections are described on the components page.
